Williams-Sonoma

Today, Williams-Sonoma, Inc. is one of the United States' largest e-commerce retailers with some of the best known and most beloved brands in home furnishings. They currently operate retail stores in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Australia, and the United Kingdom, and franchise their brands to third parties in a number of countries in the Middle East, the Philippines, and Mexico. Their products are also available to customers through our catalogs and online worldwide.

Laura J. Alber, CEO

A driving force in the growth of Williams-Sonoma, Inc., Laura Alber has served as the company’s President and Chief Executive Officer, and as a member of the Board of Directors since 2010. In her tenure, she has held various leadership roles, executing effective growth strategies, strengthening brand recognition and bolstering profits for the company’s portfolio of multi-channel brands—Williams Sonoma, Williams Sonoma Home, Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids, PBteen, West Elm, Mark & Graham, and Rejuvenation. She also serves on the Board of Trustees at the University of Pennsylvania, and on the Board of Directors of Fitbit, Inc.

Innovation Award

“People First” is one of Williams-Sonoma, Inc.’s core values, and in these challenging times, the company focused on taking care of its people, its customers, and its communities. At the beginning of the pandemic, the company was among the first to close all its stores to help slow the spread of COVID-19. The company was also one of the very few retailers to have continued pay and benefits for its associates while its stores were closed. In the wider community, Williams-Sonoma contributed to COVID relief efforts such as donations to frontline healthcare workers and nonprofit organizations, as well as raised funds for No Kid Hungry’s efforts to provide meals to children in need during the pandemic.
