City Market is a division of La Comer Group, a holding company that operates in the retail sector in Mexico. The company operates seventy-seven stores located mainly in the metropolitan area, western region and north, northwest region of the Mexican Republic. The company aims to serve diverse consumer groups through four different store formats under the brands La Comer, Sumesa, City Market and Fresko. La Comer looks to serve their customers while maintaining an optimal relationship between price, quality, treatment and assortment. The company is aware of serving a social function, representing their clients in the market by knowing their needs and is thus able to offer them the products and services at the right time, place and manner.
Carlos Gonzáles Zabalegui, CEO
Carlos González Zabalegui is Chairman for La Comer SAB de CV. He is also on the board of Grupo KUO SAB de CV and Banco Nacional de México SA and is a Member of El Consejo Mexicano De Negocios. In his past career he was Vice Chairman, Executive President & CEO at Controladora Comercial Mexicana SA de CV. He received an undergraduate degree from Universidad Iberoamericana and a graduate degree from Instituto de Estudios Superiores de la Empresa.
