DFI Retail Group: A Retail Stores Tours Top Ten Innovative Company in Singapore – Scott Price: Keeping The Connection with Customers

Scott Price is the Group Chief Executive of DFI Retail Group, bringing over thirty years of experience in retail, logistics, and consumer packaged goods sectors globally to the Asian retailer.
“I am not somebody who puts ambitious targets up there and then fails; we under promise and overdeliver,” said Price in a recent interview with The Business Times (March-April 2026).
Scott was a student of Leslie E. Grayson, professor emeritus, who directed globalizing efforts at the Darden Graduate Business School at the University of Virginia for twenty-seven years. Scott learned his lessons well: he started his career as a midlevel manager at a hotel, and his career trajectory gradually led to the position he holds today, beginning with a five-year stretch at The Coca-Cola Company in Asia in consumer package goods. For the following seven years, he held CEO positions at DHL Express (Asia Pacific and Europe) as a logistics expert. Executive roles at Walmart followed, including leading retail operations in Asia for eight years. His last stop before his current role at DFI was a senior leadership position at UPS (including president, international).
Scott learned how to get ideas across and developed his strategic communications skills in each of these roles. Scott said, “In a changing marketplace, developing a new way is a strategic requirement.” Further, he knows that keeping the connection with customers is one important key to success, as is understating the culture in which you operate.
